Atlantic Coupon Service Becomes First Retailer Clearinghouse to Process the Universal Digital Coupon AI (8112) for Retailers

Innovative Retailer Clearinghouse Has Integrated With The Coupon Bureau and IT Retail To Support Retailers In Fighting Fraud and Paper Coupon Waste.

DENVILLE, N.J. (PRWEB) MAY 13, 2021

The Coupon Bureau and Atlantic Coupon Service, a Denville, NJ retailer coupon clearinghouse for nearly 40 years, today announced the successful launch of their live integration with the Universal Digital Coupon (UDC) standard AI (8112). Atlantic first launched with Lowes Market in Texas, which was connected through point-of-sale accelerator IT Retail, and is actively processing UDC files through the entire settlement process.

The new 8112 format, which empowers consumer mobile savings and mitigates coupon fraud, is part of a larger industry-wide initiative to sunset the current 8110 paper coupon and adapt to new touchless shopping trends and mobile-driven consumer behavior. Atlantic Coupon Service is at the forefront of this important transition, and is proud to be the first clearinghouse to fully support their retailer with end-to-end 8112 settlement.

The Coupon Bureau (TCB), a non-profit, industry managed coupon data exchange, manages the Universal Digital Coupon. By partnering with TCB, Atlantic Coupon Service enables retailers to safely start accepting these digital coupons with the assurance that settlement will happen in a secure and timely fashion. After the coupon is redeemed, Atlantic receives the data from Lowes Markets, in the industry standard digital redemption file, thereby reducing paper-related costs and potential fraud.

As more and more Universal Digital Coupon offers are distributed in 2021, retailers are eager to enable their validation & redemption capability to capitalize on this new promotional revenue stream. Adoption of the new 8112 standards and processes by clearinghouses enable retailers to safely accept digital coupons knowing that the settlement process is tested and valid for all 8112 offers that are redeemed.

“We are excited about being able to support our retailer clients as they adopt this new standard. The industry and the consumer are both moving towards digital offers, and being able to establish these processes together will provide all parties with a platform for innovation. Secure and efficient clearing is the backbone of the coupon ecosystem, and we see ourselves as a leader in this effort to standardize and adopt the new digital processes as soon as they are introduced in market.” said Randy S. Bender, President of Atlantic Coupon Services.

“Retailer and clearinghouse adoption and integration is our key focus in 2021. As more digital offers are presented in market, clearinghouse partners provide a key function to complete the coupon settlement cycle. Our ongoing collaboration with Atlantic Coupon Service is important to ensure that Universal Digital Coupons get reimbursed as quickly as possible while making it safe and efficient for our retail partners.” said Brandi Johnson, CEO of The Coupon Bureau.
